Foundation launches Kentucky health data site
Oct 3rd, 2008

What are the facts, right where you live? The Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky has launched Kentucky Health Facts, a new website to help you find out. The website provides local leaders, advocates and anyone who's interested with ready access to key health data for their county or ADD district, empowering them to identify local priorities and take action to improve the health of their communities. It's part of the Foundation's "Local Data for Local Action Initiative."
The need for Kentucky data is clear: in its first 2 weeks, the site had nearly 1500 visitors! It features data from the Kentucky Institute of Medicine report, The Health of Kentucky: A County Assessment, and the Kentucky Health Care Market Report by Allan Baumgarten (both Foundation-sponsored projects). The Foundation is working closely with the Kentucky Department for Public Health and other state agencies to update and expand the available data. Be sure to bookmark the site. This resource will continue to grow.
