New Health Legislation Filed

A number of new health bills were filed during the second week of the 2010 Kentucky General Assembly.  The following summary lists all bills introduced last week (highlighted bills relate to initiatives adopted by Kentucky Voices for Health).  Of particular interest to KVH are HB 246 and SB 86, which would require chain restaurants to post calorie counts on menus. Another bill that warrants watching is HB 254, which seeks to nullify the requirement in the proposed federal health legislation which would require all citizens to purchase health coverage.
